According to the Compass real estate company, a grand, century-old property in San Francisco that was once owned by former Giants owner Robert Lurie and was shown in the 2001 Anne Hathaway film "The Princess Diaries" has just gone on the market for $8.9 million. A property in the Italian villa style adjacent to The Presidio of San Francisco park is being sold by Michael Mendes, a former CEO of Just Desserts, and his wife Wendy Berry Mendes, a professor at UC San Francisco. A Compass representative, the company that holds the listing, said the pair is relocating to the East Coast in search of new employment possibilities.

According to tax records and MLS sales data, the house was last sold in 2009 for close to $6.4 million. The house, which is about 4,500 square feet in size and features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a powder room, and lovely views of the bay and San Francisco. According to the official property listing, the apartment is among the most aesthetically beautiful in San Francisco according to fans of neo-classical Mediterranean design.
